Eagles Thai Boxing Wales has gone from strength to strength in the last 3 years. Under the expert guidance of Ajarn Peter Stewart. Kru Lee Power has built a formidable reputation as a trainer of quality fighters (Nak Muay)With Eagles Wales fighters in demand by the UK's top promoters.

With fighters competing every 2 weeks or so on top events both here in the UK and abroad its small wonder that we have fighters ranked in the TOP 10 of the UK's independent Muay Thai Rankings.

At Eagles Thai Boxing Wales we have now turned the hand of our more experienced fighters towards instructing, so you know that you will be in experienced hands when taking part in a lesson be it personal training or a class enviroment.

Below is an overview of our current team of instructors:-

Peter Stewart - Ajarn Muay (Master of Muay Thai) 30+ years expereince qualified under Matser Toddy in the early 80's and also under Praam Ajarn Yodtong (Thailand) Ex British Thai Boxing Champion, Ex Welsh Boxing Champion, Ex British and Welsh Low Kick Kickboxing Champion. Fought and won and Rajadamnoen Boxing Stadium Bangkok. Eskrima Instructor under Master Abner Passa, Tae kwon Do 1st Dan. Founder of Welsh Thai Boxing Association, Welsh Amateur Muay Thai Federation and 1st ever Welsh Instructor to be graded and recognised by Thai Educational and Cultural Commission to Instruct the teachings of Muay Thai and Muay Boran in Wales. Qualified referee in Thailand.

Lee Power - Kru Yai (Senior Instructor) 25 years experience, red and silver prajeat grade under Master Peter Stewart. Ex European, British and Welsh Thai Boxing Champion, Ex British Full Contact Kickboxing Champion, Ex Welsh Boxing Champion, Ex WKA Low Kick Kickboxing Champion. Team Coach for Wales 2009. Fought in Thailand and Europe. Welsh representative for a number of leading UK associations. Qualified referee in Thailand. Has lived in Thailand for extended where he has studied in Pattaya, Bangkok and also Nong Khai (North Eastern Issan region where Lee has a home and family due to his marriage last year)

Mike Scott - Kru (teacher) currently in Thailand where he teaches English and also studies Muay Thai. Mike has been with us for many years and is enjoying his life in Thailand.

Joey Brincat - Assistant Instructor. Joey is the current Welsh Champion at 57 kg Joey has fought for 2 British Titles - losing on a split decision to Paul TImmins on a weeks notice fight during Sept 2007, Losing via TKO to Adam Smith for UKMF British title during March 2009. Joey is ranked 6 in the UK independent rankings. Joey has lived and fought in Thailand - 2007 at Pattaya where he drew v Thai opponent. Joey won at Patong Stadium Phuket where he got a 3rd rd stoppage win during August 2008 v Theenueng of Singsamphan Gym. Joey also fought at Rajadamnoen Stadium Bangkok, September 2008 where he knocked out Noomrungsit of Rangist Gym, Bangkok in 3rd round with Knees to head. Joey has spent 2 and a half  months training and learning at Pattaya Kombat Village during 2007. He had 3 months living studying Muay Thai and fighting during 2008; at Sinbi Gym, Phuket, then at Jitti Gym, Bangkok and now following from his Bronze medal at the World Amateur Championships March 2009 Joey is living and training at Jitti Gym, Bangkok where he hopes to acheive his dream of fighting at Lumpinee Stadium.

Joey won a Bronze medal at the 2009 WMF World Amateur Muay Thai Championships, Nimibuth Stadium, Bangkok.

Matt Sheedy - Assistant instructor. Matt has been training in Muay Thai for a number of years, starting off as a Junior living and training at various gyms in Manchester and then onto Holland where he trained and fought for a couple of years. Matt was a Junior English Champion before fininshing Muay Thai for a couple of years to continue his studies. Matt came to Eagles Wales when he was succesfully interned to University of Wales Institute Cardiff. Matt holds Welsh titles at 2 weights and is also the current WPMF English Champion. Matt has fought for 2 British titles previously, losing to Scott Sykes for the ISKA Title at 66kg during 2008 and then to Lee Green for the WPMF title February 2009. Matt has fought and won at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok v the highly regarded australian Pado of Eminates Air Gym Bangkok. Kru Lee owes thanks to Jitti for helping both Matt and Joey with their training and arranging their fights whilst they are in Thailand.

Matt won a Bronze medal at the 2009 WMF World Amateur Muay Thai Championships, Nimibuth Stadium, Bangkok.

Will Riva - Assistant Instructor. Will has been training in Martial Arts for a number of years, although not strictly a Muay Thai pedigree, Will has vast experience of K1 and Kickboxing as he lived and trained as a professional K1 fighter under Nick Pettas in Japan for 4 years. Will has fought and won 15 times in Japan where he was the number 1 contender in the Heavyweight division. Will has fought japanese K1 legend Hiromi Hamada losing split decision with a broken hand and has fought ISKA and K1 world champions in Poland, Turkey and Hong Kong. Will holds 1st dan Black Belt in Kyokoshin Karate and is an assett to the Eagles Team. Will is the current BIKMA Superheavyweight Thai Boxing Champion.

Will is now competing at 88kg Max

Sean Facey - Trainee Instructor. Sean is current Welsh Golden Belt Middleweight Champion which he won January 2009 v Leighton Mannings of WPT Swansea. Having campaigned at 82kg for his first few fights Sean has found a niche fighting at -75kg, he has fought the cuurrent number 1 ranked UK fighter Ivan Damanyov on 1 weeks notice during 2007, dropping the highly rated Ivan in rd 1 with a high kick before Ivan came back strongly to get a majority points verdict. Sean has fought at 'A' Class a number of times and won a Bronze medal at the 2009 WMF World Amateur Muay Thai Championships, Nimibuth Stadium, Bangkok. Sean plans to compete at 70kg from June 2009.

Gobind Singh - Trainee Instructor. Gobind is currently ranked number 1 in Wales at -65 kg however he has fought at -72kg. with a chequered fight record, Gobind is determined to come back strongly during 2009. He has fought international opponents and competed at the 2009 WMF World Amateur Muay Thai Championships, Nimibuth Stadium, Bangkok, where he lost v the Polish Silver Medal Winner. Gobind is hopefully fighting for a Welsh title at -65kg in North Wales on June 21st.

Lewis Long - Trainee Muay Thai Instructor assistant Golden Belt Hardcore Instructor. Lewis holds black belts in both Kickboxing and Judo. He is a member of the Welsh Judo squad. Lewis holds an impressive 5 win and 1 loss record at Semi Pro MMA together with numerous Judo competition wins. Lewis provides us with a firm grappling base to work from. Lewis has fought twice at Muay Thai winning both by referees stoppage and also won a Bronze medal at the 2009 WMF World Amateur Muay Thai Championships, Nimibuth Stadium, Bangkok-Lewis competed in the -19 years 81kg section. Lewis fights for a Welsh Muay Thai Title at 81kg on May 31st.

Mark Sherlock - Trainee Muay Thai Instructor. Mark has been training with Kru Lee for a number of years. Originally a Shotoakn Karate practitoner Mark at 42 years old has over 25 years experience of Martial Arts. Mark has been picked for GB Karate Squad training during the late 80's and was also a member of the Welsh Karate Squad. Mark has competed in a number of Muay Thai Interclubs and plans to fight on a pro show during 2009 at 42 years old!

Mariusz Baniak - Mariusz is a black belt at Ju Jitsu and Polish Budo. He has combat Budo competitioon experience. Mariusz has been with us since 2008 and has fought at Full Contact, Muay Thai and Semi Pro MMA. Mariusz cross trains in different styles and is fighting Golden Belt Hardcore rules May 16th 2009.

Gareth 'Bone' Butler - Kru Gareth has been with us for over 15 years. he has fought extensively in the past prevoiously being Welsh Champion at Boxing and Muay Thai, however after travelling the World and starting a succesful business, Gareth prefers to now train himself at Muay Thai and also MMA. Gareth assists at the clubs when required.

Gareth Edwards - Trainee Instructor. Gareth is an Ex Army heavyweight Boxing Champion. He trains with Ajarn Peter and assists with the classes where required. Gareth provides expert tuition at Boxing technique.

Martyn Byrne - Trainee Instructor at Barry Eagles, lots of years training with Peter Stewart.

Dave Tolcher-James - Instructor at Barry over 20 years experience at Kickboxing, Karate and Muay Thai.
